Tree Planting Project

Spring Break 2007 will no longer carry the same connotation that it traditionally did. It will instead go down in history as the time some US college students traveled from Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts to Morocco as part of their Arabic program. During their trip, they distributed school supplies to 60 children in the village of Riadimsouane, Morocco, and donated 700 olive trees to be planted in and around the same village. MACCA was but one of the several organizations that sponsored and partook in this great altruistic endeavor. This work was spearheaded by our brother Aziz El madi who single handedly organized the trip and sollicited the help of other organizations like MOER Foundation, Salem State College, MAS-Boston, Al-Huda Society, Staples Office Supplies,in addition to some private individuals. The goal of the event was to build a small but a solid bridge of goodwill between people in the United States and the people of Morocco. Mr, El madi has also enlisted the cooperation of Riadimsouane Association, which is the Moroccan non-profit Moroccan organization that facilitated the tree planting ceremony .
