Supportive Services
As an added benefit to our traditional English Literacy programs, we encourage all students to bring to the attention of their instructors any matters of hardship (relating to adapting) that they may be going through. On case-by-case basis, we will assess the individual’s needs and the MACCA board will take the necessary steps to assist that student through the appropriate committee with the assistance of outside agencies. Matters relating to housing, transportation, fuel assistance, child care, immigration and legal issues are but a few of the areas in which M.A.C.C.A. has established community ties and can help with or assist the student by pointing them in the right direction.

English Literacy

At MACCA, we consider English proficiency to be a pre-requisite to Civic participation. MACCA devotes the bulk of its energy towards knocking down all language barriers standing between its community members and their ultimate goal of integrating into society. Reaching mainstream status is an integral part of the work that do. “Lisany” is the English literacy program that MACCA runs and operates with the help of a group of qualified volunteers and dedicated consultants.

MACCA ’s unique curriculum is specifically designed to assist people in gaining the level of English proficiency necessary to adapt to American society and become gainfully employed.
